When we first started, our branding was rooted in a minimalist aesthetic. But as we spent more time in classrooms and libraries, we realized that while our mission was serious, our delivery needed to be joyful.
If we wanted children to fall in love with reading, our visual identity had to feel like an invitation to play. The most significant change in our new logo is the intentional use of orange. We didn't choose this color just for its vibrancy; we chose it to represent a slide.
In the eyes of a child, a slide represents momentum, excitement, and the thrill of the journey. By incorporating this "fun element," the logo tells a story of its own: that literacy isn't a chore or a rigid academic exercise, it’s a fun adventure. The orange curve serves as a visual bridge, leading the child from the first word to the final "Creation."
A vision is only as good as the hands that shape it. We owe this vibrant evolution to the brilliant creative mind of Anthony Segirinya. Anthony understood that we weren't just looking for a "new look"; we were looking for a "new feel."
He took our core values of storytelling and legacy and infused them with energy and movement giving Ekigambo Blog a face that children easily recognize.
A huge thank you to Anthony Segirinya for helping us find the fun in the fundamental work of writing.
