For a long time, the mission lived online. But one day in a vibrant classroom at Mapeera Primary School in Entebbe, the vision of Ekigambo Blog finally took a physical form. This visit marked a historical milestone: our very first in-person reading and storytelling session.
Our Founder arrived with more than just stories; he arrived with the first batch of our printed books. Seeing the children’s faces light up as they received their own copies for free was a powerful moment.
The day wasn't just about giving out books; it was about the magic of the storytelling session. As the room filled with the voices of characters and the laughter of students, it became clear that stories are not meant to be read in silence, they are meant to be shared, discussed, and celebrated.
It was here, at Mapeera Primary School, that the "Learning with Stories" program was officially born. What started as a one-time visit evolved into a core pillar of our mission. We realized that to truly nurture the imagination of children, we had to meet them where they were: in their schools.
Looking back at the photos from that day, you can see the foundation of what would eventually become Lapatutu Writing Creations.
To the staff and students of Mapeera Primary School: thank you for being the first to believe in the power of a story.
